Bite-Sized Fiction

Need a quick story on-the-go? Right inside our Teen Room is a machine that dispenses short stories! Spin the knob and see what you get!
The collection features excerpts from books in our collection, flash fiction curated from online, and tales from young local authors. Teens in the community can submit stories 500 words or less to the Bite-Sized Fiction editor, Mx. Fagan (samma@phlib.org).

Gaming

With graphics perfect for photo editing or ultra gaming, the computers in our Teen Room were built with gamers in mind. Come let out some steam with any of our dozens of Steam games. Whether you want to face your friends in Rocket League or go out solo in a Skyrim quest, you’re sure to find a game you love in here.
We don’t stop with computers. We’ve got bean bags and pillows and more for our console gaming station. Fire up the Playstation 4 or Xbox One, or just put in a DVD and chill. All options are great for breaks between homework assignments!

Collaborate

We have modular tables that roll apart for solo studying or together for a group project. Whiteboard surfaces mean you can scribble notes in dry erase markers as you go, work on a group outline, or doodle to your heart’s content.

Take a Book / Leave a Book

We have an entire shelf dedicated to taking a book as long as you need – and leaving a book for someone else to find and love. Books marked with yellow stickers are eligible to go home with you. Have an extra copy or a book you can’t keep anymore? Bring it on by and let it find a new home!
